Homeopathy is a holistic therapeutic tool that has been in international use since it’s inception in 1810. While not a substitute for conventional medicine, it can be used in a wide variety of conditions.

It is based on the idea that substances that can produce symptoms in people can also cure those symptoms when given in very small quantities. As Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy put it: Similia similibus curentur (Let likes be cured by likes).

There are many ways of using homeopathy.
  1. OTC (Over the counter) Many homeopathic remedies are sold at chemists and health food shops. They are usually specific remedies for specific problems (eg. Chamomilla for teething, Arnica for trauma etc) This form of homeopathy is very hit and miss. You need to be lucky to get a good result.

  2. MIXTURES: Remedies for specific problems have been made by combining homeopathic remedies into mixtures for specific problems. This sort of homeopathy has been called ‘Complex Homeopathy’. At the present time, many Vega practitioners and other practitioners without training in homeopathy, use homeopathic complexes. You don’t really need to study homeopathy to prescribe these mixtures.

  3. CLASSICAL HOMEOPATHY: The Rolls Royce of homeopathy. Classical homeopaths have gone through a long and arduous training. The goal is to prescribe a single homeopathic remedy to suit not only your illness, but you as a whole person, physically and psychologically. This means that the homeopath needs to spend a fair amount of time getting to know you. An hour is the average length of time for the first visit.
